John Stebbins, Emory ’92
General Secretary

Every General Convention leaves its mark on Beta history. From landmark legislation to speeches now forever enshrined in our texts, some of the Fraternity’s most cherished moments occur around this great Beta tradition. When brothers across chapters and generations come together to rekindle their Beta Spirit, we chart the path forward for our Great and Good Fraternity. Perhaps not surprisingly as we host the 184th in the heart of a city as dynamic as Dallas, new inspirations and important decisions become opportunities to reaffirm Beta’s Three Great Principles and core values.

As a fitting reminder, John Reily Knox, Miami 1839, gave a rousing address on the Fraternity’s first anniversary in 1840. Nearly two centuries later, we gather with a renewed commitment to ensuring this Fraternity remains a beacon of brotherhood and personal growth for all who call it home.

I hope the 184th General Convention sets your heart aglow with the passion, dedication and pride which unites brothers and Friends of Beta alike. May the Beta stars shine big and bright deep in the heart of Texas as we reunite this weekend to celebrate our eight founders and this special Fraternity we all know and love.

Sincerely and yours in ___kai___,
John Stebbins, Emory ’92
