General Fraternity President Tom Cassady, Cincinnati ’76, will welcome attendees to this year’s Convention Kickoff, where the official theme is dedicated and the traditional Convention Countdown will commence. Tom has been a prominent leader within the Fraternity for nearly 40 years, serving as a district chief as well as on the Foundation Board of Directors and Board of Trustees. In 2005, he was awarded the Francis W. Shepardson Award.
Jud Horras, Iowa State ’97, has served as president and chief executive officer of the North American Interfraternity Conference since 2015, previously the Administrative Secretary of Beta Theta Pi. During the Convention Kickoff, Jud will present NIC Awards of Distinction to two collegiate brothers.
A long time volunteer for his alma mater and later on the Board of Trustees, Dr. Don “Dipper” DiPaolo, Michigan ’78, received the Shepardson Award from the Fraternity in 2009. All attendees are encouraged to attend “The Great Conversation III: A Radical Brotherhood,” an interactive discussion led by Dipper on Thursday night. This third installment of “The Great Conversation” follows his previous sessions led at the 170th Convention in 2009 and the 175th Convention in 2014. Prepare to be both challenged and inspired as brothers and friends consider their roles and relationships with the Fraternity.
