General Convention

Developing Men of Principle for a Principled Life

About the General Convention

One of the Fraternity’s most cherished traditions, the General Convention is nearly as old as Beta Theta Pi itself and serves five purposes:

Relationship Cultivation

Business of the Fraternity

Education

Inspiration

Recognition & Celebration

A Pilgrimage Home

In 2024, the Fraternity came home for its annual reunion! Beta brothers, Sweethearts and guests joined together at the 185th General Convention on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Home of the Miami Triad — Beta Theta Pi, Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Chi — and the Alpha chapters of the Delta Zeta and Phi Kappa Tau, Miami is affectionately known as the Mother of Fraternities. Attendees visited iconic Beta heritage sites across campus, from the Beta Campanile to the Hall of Chapters to the Alpha Chapter house. At Harrison Hall, they stood near the spot where Beta’s founders changed the course of history some 185 years ago.
